Club Escobaria

The aim of this club is to form an association of cactus growers specialising mainly in the genus Escobaria and possibly other Mexican and North American genera.

The benefit of membership in Club Escobaria should be access to an expanded range of photographs, citations of scholarly articles and other materials, which will be continually updated. A published list of club members, complete with a contact e-mail address, will be used to facilitate the transfer of various information (seeds, plants, literature, etc.) between growers. Also, the anticipated creation of a collections directory listing the plants of the genus Escobaria grown should serve to preserve the individual taxa in our collections, and possibly to rescue endangered plants in the wild.

The next step after expanding the membership base should be, for example, to publish its own online bulletin/magazine. This would be designed to highlight new articles in periodicals and new publications that touch on the Escobaria genus in some way. Your travel articles, observations on cactus cultivation, sowings, possible controversies, etc. should also be revived.

All your opinions, comments, reactions, observations (even negative) are welcome in advance.
I hope that the club will gain enough members who will actively participate in the co-creation of the structure and individual components.

Anyone interested in joining Club Escobaria after reading the rules can apply using the form below.
