I suppose thah E. asperispina is not a variety of E. missouriensis but it is an independent species. Asperispina is isolated in the Mexican state of Nuevo León where it grows high in the mountains (around 1600 m a.s.l.) on little meadows. I saw it together with the old Möller, it is miniature in the same way as E. cubensis, shrinked into sward under the level of the terrain (February, dry weather).
Have anyone found it in recent years?
